Laying flooring may well not be the biggest risk on site. Nonetheless we have a proactive attitude to health and safety – consistently putting it right at the forefront of everything we do. This makes sure that as well as getting the job done perfectly and on time, we get it done safely too.
Our contracts managers are responsible for health and safety on site. They make sure that the areas our teams are working in are completely safe – carrying out regular tool box talks and strictly enforcing the wearing of appropriate PPE to meet site rules and task-specific risk assessments. This includes safety “Kevlar” gloves which are worn on the non-cutting hand – proven to protect the hand without hampering movement. We look to use non-hazardous materials in every instance and will often request specification changes if a toxic adhesive or product been specified by the client or architect. All site staff and operatives are trained in safe working practices and carry CSCS cards.
Our contracts director who has overall responsibility for health and safety is IOSH trained in directing safety, along with our divisional directors.
