Team Loughton take part in Pink Tie Club Golf Day Staff members of Loughton Contracts were delighted to once again take part in the Official Pink Tie Club Golf Day to raise money for a range of different charities. Loughton Contracts are the founder members of The PTC (Pink Tie Club), which was officially formed in December 2008 with most of the original members meeting at an event in July 2008. Loughton fits flooring for a charitable cause! We are happy to have been able to help London based charity; Coram’s Fields, working for Mace, as we supplied and installed Whiterock to the kitchen and vinyl to the kitchen and servery at the Coram Café. This completed new area will be of huge benefit to the charity and visitors to the park. Coram’s Fields is a children’s only park and playground, providing services to young people living in or visiting London. Loughton proudly sponsor Charity Dragon Boat Race! The Kier London Charity Boat Race took place on 6th June, which we proudly sponsored, in order to raise money for the British Heart Foundation. Kier London were one of ten businesses within Kier Regional Building who’s target was to raise a minimum of £15k each for their chosen local charity and the British Heart Foundation. Hakwood Visit Recently, our Timber Installation Director visited Hakwood, one of our timber flooring suppliers at their Rotterdam based HQ, to look at their day to day operations and quality controls. Hakwood pride themselves on being extremely environmentally efficient, as all the timber they use is hand selected from their own direct purchasing of forests. Each log is hand chosen for grading, cut and then aired naturally for many months. We are delighted to confirm that we now have joined a list of professional companies that have transitioned from ISO 18001 to ISO 45001 accreditation. This latest ISO is now recognised as an International Standard with nearly 70 countries signing up to it. Axe Throwing @ Whistle Punks! As we prepare to start installation of our single biggest project to date it was important that our site team created a good working relationship with the client. To encourage this, we organised a team building event and challenged the Mace team to try their hand at Axe Throwing.
