When US software giant Adobe decided to locate their new office in London’s Tech City district they appointed Como to deliver the 45,000 sq ft fit out. Situated in the trendy White Collar Factory, that boasts a roof top running track, Adobe’s new Sales & Marketing hub for London/Europe houses around 375 staff.

The new scheme designed by Gensler offers a mixture of open plan areas, meeting rooms and private phone booths incorporating different floor coverings across 3 different levels. The overall aim of the project was to create a work space that felt like home so we installed Milliken carpet tiles to the open plan office areas, complemented by Domus timber flooring in breakout areas and staff tea points.

A bold, red feature staircase with a mixture of concrete platforms and Oak treads allowed staff to migrate between the 7th and 8th floors while still reflecting the industrial feel of the building.

The 13th floor was designed as a customer facing area that allowed Adobe to showcase their latest tech products to clients and visitors. This area had a higher more polished specification utilising more Milliken carpet tiles and woven vinyl by leading manufacturer Bolon.

The location of this project offered its own challenges. Situated on ‘Silicone Roundabout’ with limited access meant that deliveries needed to be carefully managed. Our project team needed to coordinate our labour to ensure quick off loading and material distribution.

This successful project for Como was awarded a London Design Award for being an exceptional office environment, optimally aligned to empower its users!
