When a global investment bank with offices in 58 countries, required a refurbishment of their flagship London headquarters, flooring was a critical part of the plan. Thanks to our track record of success, accredited management systems, highly detailed plans and tightly controlled programmes, Overbury Projects appointed Loughton Contracts to carry our flooring works on this large and complicated job.
In fact, with a brief that incorporated seven levels, the 14,775 m2 of Milliken Nordic stories carpet tile, specified in three designs, were enough to cover more than two football pitches. In addition there were tea points to be fitted in a Forbo Marmoleum called Concrete Cosmos.
As if the sheer scale of the project was not enough, there were a variety of logistical elements that required careful planning, such as the fact that part of the building would remain occupied throughout, necessitating some of the work to be completed out of hours.
There was also a very strict timeline and a specific layout plan to follow, in order that the furniture install could follow rapidly and seamlessly behind our fitters.
As ever, Loughton was up to the challenge, completing the project to the highest standards, on time and budget. The finished offices now boast striking flooring designs in a variety of grey, purple and turquoise shades, complementing the interior furnishings while helping to define different zones.
